To honor the life and legacy of Alan Zheng by empowering young people to harness data science, artificial intelligence, and technology for the good of humanity and the planet.
The Alan Zheng Foundation is dedicated to continuing Alan's dream of using innovation and compassion to address global challenges. Through scholarships, research support, and educational outreach, we seek to inspire and equip the next generation of students to combine technical excellence with a deep sense of responsibility toward the environment and society.
Alan Zheng was a senior at West WindsorโPlainsboro High School North, a devoted swimmer, a gifted researcher, and a kind and thoughtful young man. Despite his short life, he left behind a remarkable academic footprint:
An interactive AI-driven research platform analyzing over 15 million climate-related tweets and thousands of disaster records.
Papers accepted at the 16th International Conference on Applied Human Factors and Ergonomics (AHFE 2025) and the 6th International Conference on NLP & Information Retrieval (NLPI 2025).
First Place at GameGala 2025 (top 1% nationally) and the President's Volunteer Service Award (Gold).
Submitted a U.S. patent application at age 17 for his AI-driven research methods.
Alan dreamed of studying Data Science in college, with a minor in Psychology or Environmental Science, and of building a startup to use technology to combat climate change.
